- There is another story behind this name. Legend has it that in the olden days, a beautiful fairy fell in love with a fisherman from the coastal region. Desiring for her beloved to live an eternal life, the fairy secretly stole three peaches from the heavenly realm and brought them down to the mortal world for him to eat. Upon learning of this, the Jade Emperor was extremely angered and used his magic to transform the three peaches into three mountains, thus separating the love between the two. Since then, it has been called Three Peaches Island to commemorate the love story of the fairy and the fisherman.
